My very first blog award :)

I am pleased to say that I received my very first blog award. Sica from Scrap Raptor gave me this award (what a sweetie). You may have noticed that I received the award a little while ago, but I took forever to decide on who I should nominate to receive the award. :)

Here are the rules for this award:
1. Put the award on your blog.
2. Include a link to the person who gave you the award.
3. Nominate 7 or more blogs to receive the award.
4. Leave a message on their blogs letting them know they have an award on your blog.

Here are my nominations:
1. Brownie Scraps - the blog is great with daily freebies for really great digital scrapbooking kits. While you are there, you may as well check out the forum too for some fab challenges and to meet some other scrapaholics!

2. DigiFree - I'm sure everyone already uses this blog but, if not, you SHOULD! This blog uses a nifty little search engine to scour through the digital scrapbooking blogs and automatically find all of the freebies for you. Great blog, and quite an impressive (and fairly accurate) application behind the scenes.

3. Favors With Love - If you are looking for a favor for ANY occasion, then this is the site for you! They have some great items in store and plenty of DIY ideas as well. I am particularly fond of the Fish in a Bag Soap, but am yet to attempt it myself. :)

4. LissaE Designz - Lissa is an extremely talented designer who also owns and runs the Haven Designz site and store. Her blog contains heaps of freebies, discounts, tips, previews and sale information. Great blog and Lissa is so generous that she is even giving away the FULL KIT that was used to design her blog as part of a competition on Haven Designz where you get the kit for free then create a layout for the chance of winning a $20 gift certificate to the store! How generous is that!?!?!?!? The contest has been running all month and currently only 6 layouts have been submitted so you are in with a REALLY good chance if you get a layout done! And... it's really easy to create a layout with the kit because the kit is absolutely gorgeous! Click either of the images to go to the contest in the Haven Designz forum (free registration may be required)

5. JennCk - Jenn is an EXTREMELY talented and creative woman and she often creates fabulous freebie quick pages, templates and the occasional mini-kit.

6. Miss Trish's Digi Designs - Trish is another talented and generous designer who has just started thinking about finding a store to sell her creations. In the meantime, however, she has HEAPS of great stuff for free on her blog.

7. FlutterbyeFaery Designs - Evie is another EXTREMELY talented designer who seems to be able to come up with incredible ideas and create magical kits in no time at all! Her blog is full of her gorgeous creations and loads of freebies including templates, quick pages, mini kits, samplers, paper packs and discount codes.

Funky Tweens - S4H/S4O Kit Freebie!!!

I made it through to the third round of The Next Best Thing designer contest which means I have another free kit for you this week!

For this week's challenge, we were given the following swatch and had to work with at least 3 of the colours.

My initial thought was of how I would *never* personally choose such bright colours but as I started working with them, I really fell in love with the colour scheme!!!

The colours reminded me of the funky outfits and fun activities that the "tweens" get up to these days. So, with a bit of input from my tween-aged nieces, I am quite proud to present to you this 'Funky Tweens' kit :)

Drop shadows are for preview only.

Download 'Funky Tweens':

* Papers (48.3Mb)
* Elements (18.2Mb)

In addition to creating the kit, we also had to create a Quick Page. For a preview of the Freebie QP (and the link of where to download it), check out my next post :)

I hope you enjoy using this kit as much as I enjoyed creating it. Please leave a comment on the kit (in the gallery at Digital Scrap Ink) so that I can be put through to the next round of the competition and you can get more weeks of free kits!

Enjoy!

Vegetable Garden - S4H/S4O Kit Freebie!!!

Well I made it through the first round of The Next Best Thing designer contest which means I have another free kit for you this week!

The task for this round was to create a kit that caters for people aged 25+. For me this was rather challenging because I LOVE to make cute little girl kits, so I put my thinking cap on (and got one of my sisters also thinking) and came up with a couple of great ideas. I won't tell you what the others ideas were in case I need to make another "25+" sort of kit in the future. Anyway, after creating some elements for one of the other themes (which I really wanted to work on), I couldn't decide on an appropriate colour scheme so went for the veggie patch theme because the colours were much more obvious.

Drop shadows are for preview only.

* Elements (18.7Mb)

14 designers were put through to the second round so unless someone drops out, there should be 14 kits available for you to download for free! You can grab the other kits HERE! Also, if you haven't grabbed the kits from last week, you will need to grab them ASAP before everyone takes their links down. Last week's free kits can be found HERE!

I hope you enjoy using this kit as much as I enjoyed creating it. Please leave a comment on the kit (in the gallery at Digital Scrap Ink) so that I can be put through to the next round of the competition and you can get more weeks of free kits!

Enjoy!

A Little Bit Fishy - S4H/S4O Mini Kit Freebie!!!

It's the first week of The Next Best Thing designer contest at Digital Scrap Ink and I have just completed my mini kit for the challenge. I am REALLY happy with how well it has turned out and I hope you all love it too!

My 16mth old daughter, Bethany, is currently OBSESSED with fish so all day I hear her saying "Fish. Fish! FISH!" so, after seeing the orange and blue color scheme for this week, all I could think of was "Fish. Fish! FISH!".

Mini Kit Includes:
* 5 solid papers
* 4 patterned papers
* 1 scene
* 2 fish bowls
* 1 goldfish
* 1 set of bubbles
* 1 bubble frame
* 1 hooked photo frame
* 1 hooked boot
* 1 hooked tag

Drop shadows are for preview only.

Download 'A Little Bit Fishy':
via The Next Best Thing contest at Digital Scrap Ink (free registration required):
* Complete Mini-Kit (29 Mb)

Being the first week, there should be about 14 kits available for you to download for free! You can grab the other kits HERE!

I hope you enjoy using this kit as much as I enjoyed creating it. Please leave a comment on the kit (in the gallery at Digital Scrap Ink) so that I can be put through to the next round of the competition and you can get more weeks of free kits!

Apart from that, I created a layout using the kit and uploaded it to Brownie Scraps and managed to get Layout of The Day! If you would like to check out the layout, it can be found HERE (note: the reason I didn't upload it here is because DigiFree would pick it up as the preview for the freebie).

Enjoy!
